Nesting: Valentine’s

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, this coming week. If you haven’t already put cards and greetings in the mail, today is the day! Even belated Valentine’s wishes are welcomed by recipients.

Whether you include a poem, ditto, hello, or thinking of you message, a Valentine’s Day card delivers smiles and grins to your receivers. Consider including a photo from a past shared experience or one from a current adventure. Tuck a bookmark, a recipe card, or a lipstick kiss inside.

Valentine’s Day originated in Rome many centuries (even millennia) ago. It wasn’t such a tame celebration as what we gift, exchange, and send each other now. Over the years, flowers, cards and candy have become a standard of this holiday celebration. For more, here’s a great article from Mental Floss.

Even when gifting in person, a card in an envelope is a welcome part of the gift. Expressions of love, appreciation, and “it is a joy to know you” are all fitting on Valentine’s Day.

LOVE – that’s what I see in this photo of NestingCards artist Beth Suter with her two daughters!
