Nesting: New Year

Here’s a novel idea for the new year…write a letter a week. That’s 52 cards, notes, or letters. Birthday greetings count. However, sending 52 December holiday cards is a separate count.

People of all ages enjoy receiving a card as a hug, hello, and how-are-you greeting. Whether you pen “thinking of you” or write down a story, trip memory, or anniversary celebration message, you are letting the recipient know you value your relationship with them.

Valued relationships are worth celebrating this coming year. Two calendar years of COVID, limited travels, quarantines, and fears have taken a toll on relationships. Rekindle the relationships you value most in the new year – send a card, a greeting, or a birthday wish for each person you know.

Have a friend fighting cancer or another challenging illness? Send a card a week to spread cheer and healing thoughts.

Have a friend who is feeling isolated? Send a card each time you think of them. Or, pick up the phone and text or call to have a more immediate interaction. For a lasting interaction, send a card.

Ring in the new year with a resolution to write more letters!

Photo note:  Whether you make a card to send, or purchase one, the very act of preparing a card lifts your spirits and will lift the spirits of your recipient too.
